Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed through small incisions using special instruments. Unlike traditional open surgery, which requires larger incisions, laparoscopic surgery uses small tubes, cameras, and instruments to reach the surgical site. During laparoscopic surgery, a small camera called a laparoscope is inserted into a small incision near the surgical site. This camera provides a magnified view of the internal organs on a monitor, allowing the surgeon to view and perform the procedure accurately. Additional small incisions are made to insert the specialized instruments needed to perform the surgical procedure.
